The Modern Ranch Revival

Luxury Remodel

Originally built with generous proportions, soaring ceilings and beautiful architectural beams, this Prescott ranch style home had all the elements of something special. Its builder grade finishes, undersized island, limited storage and traditional fireplace simply were not embracing the scale or character of the space.

The Opportunity

With the home being prepared for sale, the vision was a sophisticated, move in ready residence that would appeal to today's buyers while preserving the warmth and character of its original architecture. The approach was intentional: invest where it would make the greatest impact, improve everyday function and introduce a cohesive design that felt contemporary and inviting.

The Design Thinking

In the kitchen, cabinetry now extends from eight to ten feet under twelve foot ceilings for more storage and a custom built look. The island grew from 3' x 5' to 6'6" x 7' with seating for six, topped in crisp white, while Arizona Tile Valbella Grey wraps the perimeter counters and slab backsplash. Integrated charging outlets, concealed electrical, and lighting under the cabinets, inside them and at the toe kick complete the space, with linear hardware installed horizontally and delicate glass and brass pendants overhead.

An overlooked wall between the kitchen and living room became an integrated wet bar designed to feel like a custom furniture piece, with natural white oak lower cabinets, satin brass hardware, a panel ready beverage refrigerator and white uppers with integrated display lighting.

In the living room, a sleek linear gas fireplace replaced the original firebox, with Arizona Tile Reflexion in Night running floor to ceiling in a horizontal stacked installation and every seam carefully placed, beneath a sculptural satin brass chandelier. In the bathrooms and laundry room, existing cabinetry was refreshed with contemporary hardware and backplates that hide old mounting holes, and crystal, satin brass and frosted glass lighting carries one design language through the home.

Why It Matters

Rather than changing the home's identity, the renovation embraced its strongest architectural features and gave them new life. Every decision was made with both the present and future homeowner in mind. The result feels entirely renewed: sophisticated yet approachable, contemporary yet warm.
